Associate Healthcare Financial Professional
 Jesse Maier has nearly a decade of experience in healthcare financial management in both hospital and outpatient care settings. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (per the Healthcare Financial Management Association – HFMA) and has worked with medical specialty practices and hospitals with budgets ranging from $10-$75 million.
Most recently, Mr. Maier’s work with a neurosurgery practice as the Controller resulted in a 30% reduction in Accounts Receivable days outstanding. Prior to that, as Director of Fiscal Services for a medical center, he worked closely with the CFO and hospital administration on preparation of annual operational and capital budgets, as well as driving the center’s implementation of new budgeting and financial analysis software. Other notable professional achievements include recouping $70,000 in malpractice insurance premium, renegotiating bank fees at a $500 per month savings, and establishing vendor group purchasing contracts as a cost-saving measure.
Mr. Maier has demonstrated expertise in the compilation of financial communication tools, such as performance dashboards, benchmarking and financial statements (reporting and analysis). His development and use of dashboard reporting has helped medical practices and hospitals track performance and productivity. He believes workflow efficiencies and redesign can positively affect financial and operational results, and that training and empowerment of support roles can help sustain those results.
His passion for healthcare leadership training and development includes the implementation of healthcare leadership concepts from Quint Studor’s Hardwiring Excellence, Fred Lee’s If Disney Ran Your Hospital, along with CFO Development Series from Quorum Health Resources.
Mr. Maier’s technical knowledge includes many healthcare and financial software applications, including McKesson STAR, Meditech, Centricity PM & EMR (Practice Management & Electronic Medical Record), Quickbooks, MAS90, Peachtree, Datawatch Monarch Professional, BudEASE, ADP Payroll, and Microsoft Excel advanced functions for financial reporting design and delivery. |
